The Bird’s Nest Fern (Asplenium nidus) is a beautiful tropical houseplant with bright green, wavy fronds that grow in a nest-like circle, adding a lush and modern look to any space. In the wild, it often grows on trees and rocks, using its rosette shape to catch water and leaves for nutrients. Indoors, it thrives in medium to low indirect light, prefers evenly moist soil, and enjoys extra humidity, making it perfect for kitchens and bathrooms.
It’s also completely pet-friendly, so safe for homes with cats and dogs. Unlike many ferns, the Bird’s Nest Fern is relatively easy to care for, and with each new frond unfurling from the centre, it always looks fresh and full. In some cultures, its fronds were even used for weaving and wrapping food, adding to its charm and history.
